Holograms

If we can make holograms by hand, why can't we make a more sophisticated hologram with a laser cutter?

Basically, there are "scratch holograms" (specular hologram is the fancy name), which you can make by hand.

There is a sooftware for making holograms -- 3dSilhouette -- but I'm not sure that it is something one can use with a laser cutter.  Unfortunately, the only way to get that software now is to write the guy and ask for it .
Someone used a CNC mill to make a hologram of a simple cube:

A CAD program was used
for cutting arcs into metal,

Matthew Brand is doing very sophisticated scratch holograms that are worth taking a look at.
