Arduinos

We are doing some Arduino classes at Xerocraft hackerspace.  I would like to use an Arduino to make a "cell phone controlled sculpture," though I really don't know what I'm doing yet.  However, I'm making this entry to collect all the links and other important information, as I make progress.

(did they do Man in the Dark with this?)

Leap Motion for Processing

The Shieldbot is a small car run by an Arduino.  It is fun letting the Shieldbot run by itself at Xerocraft hackerspace. $69 at Seed online.

Russian refreshments delivered with the Shieldbot

  • Unzip it and put Shieldbot file into the libraries file of Arduino IDE by the path: ..\arduino-1.0.1\libraries

Mayan Glyphs

I love Mayan art, and would like to screen print in Mayan fonts:

"SRC"
translated into Mayan glyphs
(with online translator below),
and screen printed on a yellow flag,
to announce the beginning of the  "Sculpture Resource Center" float
-- note, Josh made up his own "R" glyph,
since the Mayans did not have an "R"

From the above online Mayan translator

From the fonts above,
installed and typed into Photoshop

All the glyphs for "artist"

"tnn_itz_at_a"
means "artist" in Mayan glyph --
very small file

The above very small file,
enlarged and "thresholded" in Photohop,
and then vectorized online with Rapid Resizer
(this is the jpg version of the svg file)
